The pre-installed secondary convection box cover enables a quick and easy installation. What does that mean? It means you can purchase an Odyssey built-in fireplace and fit it into your existing opening without worrying about complicated installation methods. You slide it into your appropriately sized opening, where insulating with ceramic wool or rockwool is recommended to minimise heat loss to the surrounding brick structure. The Odyssey range has a well-thought-out geometrical design, with the top plate at a 20-degree slope angle. This allows the rising hot air to be naturally guided towards the top air outlet above the door. The fact that the unit does not utilise an electrical fan means you get a completely silent operation, and are unaffected by any electricity outages.
The unit is beautifully designed with a full frameless black glass door. The cover plate covering the gap between the fireplace and opening sides is a work of art, where the metal frame is clad with matching black glass, giving it style and sophistication.
The Odyssey 55 requires a 55cm wide opening. This unit is ideal for converting old Victorian-type fireplaces into a beautiful modern closed combustion fireplace.
